The Night Vision Goggles are probably my favorite of all the
models...lets face it they that very cool and hi-tech look
about them ...Practical for most people? Probably not, due
to the higher price and takes slightly more effort to put
on and use.
But for hunters, hikers, military and law enforcement that
must me mobile while wearing and will be wearing them for
extended periods of time ...these are the way to go, most
definitely. Although, the goggles might be nice to have when
you have to make those midnight trips to the nearest outhouse
or tree when camping on those moonless nights. I like that
most models integrate the "flip up" design that
allows the user to move the lenses out of the way quickly
and easily when night vision is no longer necessary. Some
of the models have an automatic high light cut off switch,
so when light is sufficient for viewing without night vision
the system shuts off automatically. The PVS7 Night Vision
Goggle (shown below)by ATN is one model that has implemented
this system, and also this model is identical to the AN/PVS-7
model adopted as a standard issue to US Army ground troops,
designed to assist viewing provide reliable service in the
